Bayview Hospital Launches New Payment Initiative For Patients

Bridgetown – Bayview Hospital has partnered with Republic Bank to launch a unique new credit card initiative to assist patients with their medical expenses. It is the first time in Barbados that a bank and a medical institution have teamed up to provide patients with a special card facility to cover fees relating to procedures conducted at the Hospital.

Port Workers Trained In Port Handling Best Practices Receive Certificates And Helmets

Bridgetown- - Employees of Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) were awarded certificates and decal helmets during a presentation ceremony held at Solidarity House on Tuesday.
 
The 54 employees (20 dockers, 20 equipment operators, nine supervisors and five senior officers), who participated in a five-week training programme aimed at improving the operational skills of the workforce, received certificates in Stevedoring Foundation Skills Level I, Operations Level II and Assessment Level IV.

Postal Worker CGI’s Win Free Insurance Promotion Most Recent Winner

Kingston –- The Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA) yesterday presented the Monica Silvera Scholarship to eight Caribbean Maritime Institute (CMI) students at the Pegasus Jamaica Hotel.  The scholarship, named in honour of the CSA’s first female Executive Vice President, is to fund their studies at the CMI.

Officials at the Bridgetown Port welcomed the Carnival Sunshine on its inaugural visit to Barbados last Friday.
 
The newly renovated vessel, now the lead ship of the Destiny-class of cruise ships operated by Carnival Cruise Line, previously sailed into Barbados as the Carnival Destiny.

AIDAmar Makes Inaugural Call

  Aidamar made its inaugural visit to Barbados

Barbados on Saturday welcomed the 13th vessel to make an inaugural call at the Bridgetown Port during this winter season.

The Carnival Corporation German cruise ship, AIDAmar, one of the Sphinx-series vessels, brought 2 680 passengers and 630 crew to the island.
