Bridgetown – Employees of Barbados Port Inc (BPI) and other workers from the local and regional shipping industry recently received five days of training on warehouse logistics, and the handling of hazardous goods and dangerous cargo from the Caribbean Maritime Institute (CMI).  The workshop was held in partnership with the Port Management Association of the Caribbean (PMAC), The Shipping Association of Barbados (SAB) and Barbados Port Inc (BPI).

While many were out socialising during the recent cricket and Crop Over season, Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) Community Outreach Committee was out working hard to make a difference to the underprivileged.

The Barbados Port Inc. (BPI), in collaboration with its South American sister port, Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT), hosted a best practices in Customer Service Workshop for employees from across the organization.  Approximately 32 BPI employees participated in the four-hour workshop, held at the Cave Hill School of Business, UWI.

The Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute (CCGI) hosted their workshops for senior managers and directors on July 14 & 15 at the Hilton Barbados Hotel.  The workshops are designed to help executives navigate the corporate governance landscape to effectively guide their organisations for the benefit of shareholders, the business and society.  Persons who attended began the process toward attaining the Chartered Director Designation.

Bridgetown -- Consumers’ Guarantee Insurance Co. Limited (CGI) today announced the fourth lucky winner of the ‘Win Free Insurance Promotion’ at the CGI Head Office in Warrens.

The winner, existing CGI customer Harold Clarke of St. Thomas, was overwhelmed to receive his prize of a full year of free home insurance from CGI’s Accountant, Maria Sealy.

Bridgetown – The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) this week hosted a High-Performance Workshop at the Barbados Beach Club for local athletes heading to this year’s Pan American Games in Toronto, and Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa.  The goal of the workshop was to help prepare the athletes mentally for the rigors of these games.
