The Downside Of Social Media

The downside of social media was recently featured in the Nation newspaper.  The central issue was the freedom of persons to misuse social media for malicious ends. What prompted the news stories was a comment that proved to be untrue that was left on the newspaper’s Facebook page.  This comment held the reputation of two companies up to public scrutiny —  the newspaper and the company that was misrepresented.

For Immediate Release - Do’s and Don’ts For Managing Embargoes

When I saw the title “For Immediate Release - Do’s and Don’ts for Managing Embargoes” on the Bull Dog Reporter email it immediately took me back to the time I tried my first embargoed piece in Barbados. Embargo “is the tactic of distributing news to reporters before a public announcement, with the understanding that the outlet won’t run the story until a specified day and time.”

IABC Barbados Has A New Board

A New PR Chapter In Barbados

T.S. Elliott referred to April as being the cruelest month. He probably was a Bajan hotelier because April signals the end of the booming winter season and the start of the low occupancy period for hotels. April however for the rest of the world is a glorious month ushering in spring - flowers, butterflies and all things bright and beautiful.
