 The Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) yesterday welcomed French cruise ship Le Soléal to the Bridgetown Port for the first time at an official inaugural ceremony. The seven-deck ship, renowned for its expedition-style cruises, arrived in Barbados from Venezuela and has now set sail for Martinique; its last stop on its 17-day 

cruise.

Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) on Monday received a donation to its onsite medical facility of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Lifepak Defibrillator from international tug operator Svitzer. The new AED machine will benefit both locals and BPI visitors in emergencies where it is necessary to resuscitate individuals who have stopped breathing or their heart has stopped.

Bridgetown – The Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) yesterday hosted the official inaugural ceremony for the arrival of the Seven Seas Explorer at the Bridgetown Port. The luxury cruise ship and its crew were welcomed to Barbados by Hon. Richard Sealy, Minister for Tourism and International Transport, Chairman of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., Mr Alvin Jemmott, BPI Divisional Manager Corporate Development and Strategy, Kenneth Atherley, Representatives of the vessel Mr Martin Ince and Kevyn Yearwood, along with and other invited guests aboard the brand new 375-suite luxury liner.

The Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) today hosted a Commissioning Ceremony for eight specially selected murals by Barbadian artists to be painted on the doors of the homeport terminal at Shed 3. The project coincides with this year’s 50 ^th Anniversary of Independence and is designed to enhance the overall experience of cruise ship passengers as they officially enter and exit the island.

Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) today announced that a section of the Lewis/Wickham Boardwalk in Bridgetown will be closed for refurbishment from Monday, June 27, 2016, for a period of six to eight weeks, to allow contractors, PNC Construction and Equipment Rentals Inc., to do refurbishment work on a section of the boardwalk, between the lift bridge and the lights by Cheffette Restaurants.

BRIDGETOWN—Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) held a commissioning ceremony for the recently extended Berth #5, the Shallow Draught Marina, the newly acquired Panamax Container Crane and other cargo-handling equipment, on April 25 at the Port.

BRIDGETOWN -- French luxury cruise ship, Le Lyrial, sailed into the Bridgetown Port last Friday on its inaugural call to the island carrying 240 passengers, mainly from France and Germany.

The MSC Cruise vessel MSC Orchestra is the latest cruise ship to make an inaugural visit to Barbados.  The line has been in the Caribbean for three years but this season marks its first call on the Bridgetown Port.
