Walkers Demonstrate Their Support for Breast Cancer Awareness

Over 200 walkers turned out to support the Breast Screening Programme (BSP) of the Barbados Cancer Society as it climaxed its 10th anniversary week of activities last Saturday with the Champions In Pink Walk & Extravaganza at the Garrison Savannah. The event was held in conjunction with the Barbados Turf Club who named all the races on that day in honour of the BSP.

Rowers set to dock in Barbados

While steering more efforts towards the yachting niche, Barbados continues to pique the interest of persons in the broader sailing and rowing arena, and by the end of this month, the island will welcome more than ten teams presently rowing across the Atlantic.
The rigorous row is a part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, where 17 teams set off from the Canary Islands on December 5 on the 3000 mile trek across the Atlantic to Barbados, and are set to arrive around the end of January.

Azura Brings Christmas Cheer

Young people are developing a sense of independence and more than ever are moving towards developing their own business ideas and becoming successfully entrepreneurs.

So says Chris Harper programme manager for the Barbados Entrepreneurship Foundation.
