Barbados-based manufacturer of windows, doors and architectural products, Oran Ltd., has shown its support for the Federation of Caribbean Associations of Architects (FCAA) 8th Biennale Conference by joining the event as a gold sponsor.

Heralded as the premier conference on architecture in the Caribbean, the event will be held from September 27–29 at the Hilton Barbados Hotel.

President of the Barbados Institute of Architects, Michael Lashley, welcomed Oran on board as a major sponsor of the Biennale, “We wish to thank Oran for its contribution and its continued interest in working with the architects in Barbados and across the Caribbean.”

‘Oran’s contribution is more than just support for the conference: it is an investment in the advancement of the architectural profession locally and regionally’, Lashley added.

Over 200 participants from 30 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean are expected to attend this year for an opportunity to network and enhance their professional skills.

The conference will feature a packed programme of well-known regional and international speakers. The Biennale will comprise a general business meeting, an architectural competition, a trade show and an educational forum. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘The Joy of Architecture’.

‘Oran is especially enthusiastic about exhibiting at the Biennale’s trade show and the opportunity that this will provide for prospecting and generating sales leads. This year’s trade show will host several manufacturing companies from Barbados and across the region, such as gold sponsors for the event; Berger Paints (Barbados) Ltd. and Aqualoc. The tradeshow is open to the public free of cost.

 

About The FCAA Biennale

The FCAA is a regional association, which promotes the professional, artistic, intellectual and friendly relations between the architects of CARICOM and other Caribbean Basin countries. The Biennale comprises a general business meeting, architectural competition, trade show and educational forum. The theme of this year’s Conference is ‘The Joy of Architecture’.

No other regional event brings together architects from the English, Spanish, French and Dutch speaking Caribbean. The FCAA represents national associations of architects from Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Curacao (Netherlands Antilles), Dominica, French Guyana, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Nevis, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Saint Lucia, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago and the US Virgin Islands.

About the BIA

The Barbados Institute of Architects is the host of the FCAA 8th Biennale & Congress. The BIA is a professional body, which works with government and regulatory agencies such as the Architects Registration Board, Building Authority, Division of Energy, Environmental Protection Department, National Heritage Department, and Town & Country Development Planning Office to improve the design quality of the built environment. The Institute provides guidance to local students, schools and colleges on the requirements for the education of architects and helps the public learn more about the profession of Architecture.
