I was listening to Mix 96.9 yesterday and what I heard was the preachers of social media and their impact on advertising prophesy come true. The country generally being a little behind on the Internet I was pleasantly surprised to hear a popular night spot, Jumbies, on the even more popular St. Lawrence Gap advertising a Face Book Friday evening bash.
There is a sweet buzz sweeping the Caribbean about the profession that has me so excited I decided to join in quickly. Having been introduced to pr many light years ago in Jamaica I have witnessed a transformation in the way we do business then and now.

In Barbados BIMAP offers an introductory course in PR that is taught by Sara Odle the PR Manager at Cable and Wireless. This is usually a three month course, running from April to June of each year and Sara being a seasoned practitioner is equipped with the knowledge to give students both an academic and practical business view on the topic. This is a good orientation for persons interested in a general knowledge of the area.
