Olympic Week Focuses on Student Development

The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) recently hosted students of primary and secondary schools at its Wildey headquarters as part of the activities to commemorate Olympic Day.  Olympic Day is celebrated annually around the world in June, to promote fitness, well-being, culture and education, along with the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect.

BOA says farewell to two long-standing members

The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) has officially announced the retirement of two long-serving employees - Dave Farmer and Charles Beckles.

Dave Farmer served as the Director of the National Olympic Academy from January 2008. He was responsible for the development and implementation of educational programs for athletes, coaches, managers and all stakeholders in the sporting fraternity.

IDSDP Celebrated with Multi-Sport Rally

Peace was in the air last weekend when the Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) and its partners, the U.S. Embassy, UNICEF, the National Sports Council, and the Barbados Lotteries hosted the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) flagship event, the Multi-Sport Rally for community groups at the White Hall Playing Field St. Peter.

BOA Teaches Youth Life Skills

Youth development was the focus of the first event staged by the Barbados Olympic Association Inc. to celebrate International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP). The workshop held at the Barbados Olympic Association Inc. headquarters in Wildey St. Michael on Tuesday, is the first of three events geared at empowering youth to live positively, arming community leaders with strategies to further develop their programs and bringing communities together for peaceful fun activities.
