The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) is hosting several activities this month to celebrate Olympic Day (OD), which is observed annually on June 23. This date is set aside by the International Olympic Committee for a worldwide celebration of the birth of the modern Olympic Games, to promote fitness, wellbeing, education and culture. This year there is a special emphasis on its mission to promote peace through sport, with the theme “Together for a Peaceful World”.

The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) is again hosting the annual Olympic Day celebrations from June 21 – 26. There are four main activities planned which include tree planting, learning a new sport online, a five-day walk challenge, and a 2k Run with Barbadian Olympians.

Bridgetown, Barbados – June 18, 2014 – The BOA is issuing a call to action for all Barbadians to celebrate Olympic Day 2014 with a fun afternoon of activity at Trents Playing Field, Holetown, St. James this Sunday, June 22.
