In Barbados BIMAP offers an introductory course in PR that is taught by Sara Odle the PR Manager at Cable and Wireless. This is usually a three month course, running from April to June of each year and Sara being a seasoned practitioner is equipped with the knowledge to give students both an academic and practical business view on the topic. This is a good orientation for persons interested in a general knowledge of the area.

The Diabetes Global Village

"It is estimated that by 2025 every household across Barbados will have a person who has diabetes therefore we must introduce novel and exciting ways to spread the news about diabetes and its potential complications."

This was proposed by Dr. Kenneth George, Senior Medical Officer of health responsible for chronic and non-communicable diseases and representative of the Lion's Club, during the opening remarks of the launch of the Diabetes Global Village 2007. This exposition was held at the Hilton Hotel yesterday.

Dr. George shared that today in Barbados diabetes is common and many persons who have diabetes may suffer many complications such as blindness, kidney failure and especially amputations. He also emphasized that these complications may impact the entire household and can result in broken families.

Can A Politician Be Over Exposed

As a little girl I remember hearing a family story were my brother as a very young child would repeat the slogan "Hopping and Lowe, 3 and 4 ". It was a Democratic Labour Party Slogan back in the 60's for the St. George Candidates Air Hopping and Somebody Lowe (wasn't even born this is a second hand story but I am sure you get the drift).
