Members of the local medical fraternity are calling for dedicated public diabetic clinics in Barbados.

Plans are underway to reduce the economic burden that diabetic foot conditions are having on the government of Barbados. So says Dr. Ingrid Cumberbatch, Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health. She was speaking at the recently concluded Step-by Step programme, held at the headquarters of the Pan-American Health Organisation (PAHO).

The Party stand came alive on Friday, May 6, as management and staff of the Barbados Port Inc. commemorated their 50^th Anniversary with a karaoke session and quiz, entitled 'Propa Port Quiz.'

Plans to improve the operations of the Bridgetown Port are progressing steadily. Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Port Inc., David Jean-Marie, said as much at the company's brunch at the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal Sunday. "Currently, we are busy with initiatives for the short, medium and longer term future of the port. These include revising the Port Master Plan, separating cruise and cargo, developing the Central Container Examination Facility, completing berth number five and replacing container handling equipment.

Beach Scenes and Beautiful Sunsets were among the sights at the third annual Easter Bonnett Parade, hosted by the Barbados Port Inc. last Friday. The bonnets on show rivaled the best in Barbados and anywhere else in the world.
