The Cricket Legends of Barbados will be adding their contribution to the Australian Cricket tour of the West Indies with a cruise on board the MV Harbour Master for the Barbados leg on Tuesday, June 17 from 5pm to 9pm.

He probably was a Bajan hotelier because April signals the end of the booming winter season and the start of the low occupancy period for hotels. April however for the rest of the world is a glorious month ushering in spring - flowers, butterflies and all things bright and beautiful.

"It is estimated that by 2025 every household across Barbados will have a person who has diabetes therefore we must introduce novel and exciting ways to spread the news about diabetes and its potential complications."

This was proposed by Dr. Kenneth George, Senior Medical Officer of health responsible for chronic and non-communicable diseases and representative of the Lion's Club, during the opening remarks of the launch of the Diabetes Global Village 2007. This exposition was held at the Hilton Hotel yesterday.

Dr. George shared that today in Barbados diabetes is common and many persons who have diabetes may suffer many complications such as blindness, kidney failure and especially amputations. He also emphasized that these complications may impact the entire household and can result in broken families.
