Working With Diabetes

The Diabetes Today Magazine Summer Edition 2011 has been generating a great buzz. The magazine now in its fourth year features on the cover a pretty little girl called Nia and yes, she has diabetes. Her story is a touching one because in her 4-year-old innocence she declares that she doesn’t want to be diabetic anymore.

Children hate to be different, they like to fit in, but even adults I am sure would love to wish away this illness if they could.

Good maintenance is key in managing diabetes effectively. The upcoming Global Village Expo is a major instrument used by the Barbados Diabetes Foundation to help give the public the information and the support needed to live holistically with diabetes.

Get onboard the fight against diabetes - make plans to sponsor, exhibit, volunteer or visit the upcoming Global Village Expo. At the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael in Barbados on November 11 and 12.
