Barbados' Netball Season Starts

The Barbados Netball Association jump starts its 2008 season with clinics for umpires and coaches this Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Barbados Olympic Association Headquarters, Olympic House, Garfield Sobers Complex.

President of the Association, Octavia Gibson, promises that this season will be a special one for netball. “Last year I was just getting my feet wet as president of the Association but from this year my committee and I have an exciting package planned, geared at giving netball back its stature as the premier sporting event for girls and women in Barbados.  To this end these clinics are part of that strategy which will see the game being improved at all levels, on and off the court.”

Coaches are reminded that their workshop begins at 9:00 a.m. The umpires’ clinic starts at 1:30 p.m., with the main focus being the interpretation and application of the revised IFNA Rules.

Umpires are asked to walk with their BANU registration fees and availability forms.
