Working with the Barbados Port Inc

This year marked the 50th Anniversary of the Barbados Port Inc. As one of our clients, we have provided them with several PR services including crisis management, event coordination and general media relations. In coordinating events for the Port our work has extended from within the Port itself, to Farley Hill and even to the Harrison’s Cave. The latter occasion we enjoyed a spectacular cultural evening sponsored by the BPI for the Caribbean Shipping Association’s 41st annual general meeting.

While I enjoy working with all of our clients I think thus far the BPI has provided me with the most joy. On Tuesday, the Costa Luminosa, an Italian luxury cruise liner made its first call at the Bridgetown Port. Hon. George Hutson, Minister of International Business and International Transport; CEO (Ag) of the BPI, David Jean-Marie; members of the BPI board as well as Italy's Honorary Consul to Barbados, Paola Baldi-Lussan were all in attendance at this auspicious event.

We were treated to a variety of delectable dishes including a fantastic hors d'oeuvres with kiwi, cream cheese and prosciutto. Delicioso! The group also took a tour of the 958-foot vessel. Including its 5 star Samsara spa, luxury-dining restaurant and 2000 seat theatre.

I really enjoyed yesterday evening and look forward to another tour next week, onboard the Seabourn Quest.
