Dreams and Aspirations

Right now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Do I go after my dreams or do I further my studies based on my promising future in office administration. It may be strange to hear but I do like working as an office professional.

Then again I am starting to really become interested in event planning, should I go after that too. I love to cook and think the world or at least Barbados should know about it. Its been a while now since I did any real cooking I was a little depressed for over a year about the direction of my life and stopped baking and cooking. A little rusty now I guess.

Recently, at the Inter-American Development Bank’s FOROMIC 2012 held in Barbados, during a panel discussion on Empowering Women through Microfinance, Damaris Schneider, Operations and Talent Director, Deloitte said that men are four times more likely to take risks than women. Why is it so hard for us as women to go after what we want?? I guess it’s because we look ahead at the probable consequence if all doesn’t go according to plan.

It’s not always easy to take risks especially when there is no strong support from family, friends or finances. It’s hard to make life-altering decisions, but it is only through change and hard work that we attain our dreams and aspirations.
